About Alexis Goncalves

Alexis began actively serving in ministry in June 2021 after taking up God’s call to start a Christian devotional blog. She founded Daughter of the King devotional, an online ministry for women to be reminded, encouraged and refreshed by the messages of faith, hope and love woven throughout God’s Word. Since its conception, Alexis’ devotionals have inspired and encouraged thousands of women in the body of Christ and her work has been widely circulated and reposted by several popular Christian influencers including WANDA and others on social media.

Alexis has a genuine passion for discipling the next generation of the church. Many who know her can attest that more than anything else, she desires to model a Holy Spirit-led life marked by a personal relationship with God, submission to His will while boldly operating in the gifts and operations of the Holy Spirit. She enthusiastically encourages others—especially Gen Z—to do the same!

For two years, Alexis co-led a small but powerful weekly online discipleship group called Behind the Scenes for adults 18 years old and up. She also quickly became one of the youth and young adult leaders at Reign Youth Ministries, where she served as a prayer partner and occasional preacher/teacher for over three years.

In April 2023, Alexis accepted the call from God to leave her eight-year career in the post-secondary education sector to pursue full-time ministry. In August 2023, she accepted a temporary position as the Director of the Children’s Ministry at Toronto International Celebration Church (TICC) in Toronto, Canada. Under her leadership, the children’s ministry grew and produced much fruit through the introduction of changes such as children’s corporate worship, a focus on prayer, a student rewards system and monthly healing ministry services. Alexis’ approach to children’s ministry has been focused on introducing children to the Holy Spirit at an early age and teaching them how to hear from, depend on and partner with Him in the Great Commission.

Up until March 2025, Alexis was the Church Ministries Director at TICC where her main role was assisting the Lead Pastor in leading and facilitating the spiritual growth of the church congregation by overseeing the various church ministries and small growth groups. Today, Alexis currently serves in a supporting role to Pastor Jermaine Shakespeare as an Assistant and the Production Manager for WORSHIPOWER ministries.
